Public Interest Lawyering
Three regional conferences on public interest lawyering were organized by A2Justice between January and May 2010. These comprise the Lagos Public Interest Law Conference for SouthWest states (January, 2010), Asaba Public Interest Law Conference for South-East states (March, 2010). Also between January and May 2010 three regional conferences on public interest lawyering were organized including the Abuja Public Interest Law Conference for North Western states in May, 2010. These conferences which were organized under a MacArthur Foundation’s MACEI grant were billed to inspire members of the legal profession to adopt the use of public interest litigation strategy in order to achieve social justice. The conferences recorded commendable attendance by lawyers from the three cardinal regions of Nigeria i.e South-Western, South-Eastern and Northern regions.
